PhotoSafe Speed Enforcement is a camera system located at select locations through the City used to deter motorists from speeding through school zones. The program is a force multiplier for uniformed police officers in the field but a real Chesapeake officer always reviews each case before a citation can be issued. Our community's - and particularly our children's - safety is our number one priority and speeding through schools zones is dangerous and deadly.
Speed enforcement citations are civil penalties. They come with a fine but no points are assessed against your driver's license and no report is made to the DMV or your insurance provider.
