The Durham Cultural Roadmap is a plan that will guide future arts and cultural programming and investment to strengthen and preserve Durham's vital cultural community. As part of the planning process, the City of Durham and Durham County have hired MJR Partners to better understand what the arts and culture community needs. This next step, called Phase II, builds on ideas and feedback gathered from the community during Phase I.
During Phase II, MJR Partners will work closely with community members, the Durham Cultural Advisory Board, the Public Art Committee, and the Cultural Roadmap Planning Group to learn what is working and where the arts sector can grow. Led by Principal Consultant Margie Johnson Reese, MJR Partners are seasoned arts management practitioners with a wealth of experience grounded in policy-making that has reshaped public funding to prioritize accountability, inclusion, and fairness. Together, we’ll help shape a cultural plan for Durham’s future.
