Located on the banks of the Northwest River in Southeastern Chesapeake, VA, this 763-acre park is the perfect blend of natural beauty and recreational activities. Year-round boating, fishing, hiking, and programs are just the beginning. We have our own 18-hole disc golf course, miniature golf course, horseshoes, volleyball nets, and so much more. The park has 66 campsites and 2 rental cabins (pets are permitted in cabin 8, but not in cabin 10).
Exciting Renovations are Coming to Northwest River Park
We are excited to announce upcoming renovations at Northwest River Park that will enhance your visit! The new Northwest River Park Office and Ranger Station will be a hub for both campers and day visitors, offering enhanced amenities and exciting new features. This facility will include a brand-new classroom space for nature programs and summer camps, as well as a versatile area available for community meetings. You can also look forward to an interpretive center, where you can learn about the park's unique flora, fauna, and rich history. Plus, a campground check-in area and a convenient store equipped with hiking and camping essentials to support your outdoor adventures. The new building will also include administrative space for Park Rangers and staff, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional service. A deck with seating overlooking the lake will offer a peaceful spot to relax and enjoy the view. With stunning views of the lake, seating areas, and new restrooms, your Northwest River Park experience will be exceptional. We are committed to providing a welcoming, educational, and practical space that connects the community with the beauty of nature.
