The City ofTree City USA image South Milwaukee, proudly designated as a Tree City USA since 2019, is excited to offer the Adopt-a-Tree Program. This program provides residents with a unique opportunity to enhance their neighborhood, support our urban forest, and make a lasting environmental impact. By adopting a tree, you’ll contribute to the beauty and health of our city while helping to create a greener future for all.

How the Program Works
  •  Apply for a TreeComplete the application and Citizen Tree Maintenance Agreement, then submit to:

    City of South Milwaukee, Adopt-A-Tree2424 15th AvenueSouth Milwaukee, WI 53172

  • Attach PaymentInclude a check for $100.00 made payable to the City of South Milwaukee.• Application deadline: April 18, 2025, or until all trees are sold. • If your terrace is not approved for planting, your payment will be refunded.
  •  Approval and PlantingOnce approved, your adopted tree will be planted by the City in the terrace area adjacent to your property. 
  • Care for Your TreeAs part of the program, adopters agree to maintain the tree by watering and monitoring its health.

  • Wait for ApprovalIf your terrace meets the planting criteria, you'll be notified, and your tree will be scheduled for planting.
