VIDEO INFORMATIVOPROJECT INFORMATION

This project is part of the Department of Water Management's city-wide effort to upgrade its water system and ensure reliability and sufficient fire protection to customers. To do this, Water Management will be replacing existing waterlines that are undersized and deteriorating with approximately 795 feet of 6-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP), 885 feet of 8-inch DIP, 110 feet of 12-inch DIP, and 70 feet of 16-inch DIP along the following roads:

  • Albany Street
  • Peachtree Place
  • Liberty Street
  • Holloway Street
  • Gattis Street
  • Rome Avenue
  • 33 Alley

These new water lines will be installed via the open-cut method, which involves digging a trench to install the new pipe. The replacement of the water main will affect traffic in and around the project area.

IMPACTS Water Management will work with its consultants and contractors to make this project as low-impact as possible. The following steps are:

  • Finalize the construction documents
  • Advertise the project for bid
  • Begin construction (2025)
