The Advertisement of Request for Qualifications began December 12, 2023. A contract was awarded to The John R. McAdams Company, Inc. with a Notice to Proceed date of July 8, 2024.

Community engagement and field assessment of potential neighborhood measures has been completed. Currently the draft Preliminary Engineering and Engagement Report (PEER) is being revised to include selected project locations.

The City of Durham is seeking a qualified engineering firm to complete an overall stormwater basin study in order to identify and design stormwater retrofit/restorations in each of the seven identified Equitable and Green Infrastructure neighborhoods .  https://webgis2.durhamnc.gov/portal/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=271afd77cf8f45159f5a6b2cf4f00ed9 Work will include but is not limited to planning, conducting public meetings, performing  outreach, assessing  current neighborhood storm drainage networks, identifying  opportunities to install stormwater control measures (SCMs) in new developments and/or retrofit locations, identifying opportunities for stream restorations, modeling water quality, hydraulic and hydrologic conditions, engineering, design, analysis, cost estimates, surveying, data collection, uploading parcel information and photographs into the City of Durham project database and producing preliminary plans and construction plans for stormwater projects. All stormwater retrofit/restorations must meet or exceed current City of Durham regulatory requirements in addition to the requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and North Carolina Division of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ).
